Freiburg secured a dramatic victory over Borussia Mönchengladbach on Saturday night in the Bundesliga. The hosts trailed 1-0 at halftime but came back strong to win 2-1.
In the first half, Szalai scored for Freiburg, putting the visitors ahead early. However, Mönchengladbach responded with a goal from their own striker to level the score.
The second half saw Freiburg take control and eventually secure the win. Szalai scored again to put the hosts firmly in front, before adding another late goal to seal the deal.
Mönchengladbach's manager, Thomas Tuchel, was disappointed with the result, saying: "We didn't perform as well as we wanted today. We need to work harder in training and in games."
Freiburg's manager, Christian Pistorius, was pleased with his team's performance: "It was a hard-fought match, but we showed great resilience and determination. We deserved this win."
Both teams will now look forward to next week's match against Schalke 04 in the Bundesliga.
